[Registration Notice] National University of Singapore (NUS) 3+1+1

The "3+1+1" program is a Sino-foreign joint teaching project jointly established by the National University of Singapore (hereinafter referred to as "NUS"), the NUS Suzhou Institute (hereinafter referred to as "NUS Suzhou Research Institute"), and domestic partner universities. The program aims to integrate innovative resources from both China and Singapore to jointly cultivate world-class professional innovative talents.

The "3+1+1" program is open to outstanding undergraduate students majoring in Engineering Management at the School of Management, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and offers a study model of 3 years of domestic undergraduate studies, 1 year of bridging courses, and 1 year of master's courses. The bridging courses in the fourth year are completed at the NUS Suzhou Research Institute, and students who meet the NUS master's entrance requirements can proceed to NUS for master's studies in the fifth year.

I. Program Advantages

(1) Enroll in a world-class university

According to the latest "QS World University Rankings" released in 2022, NUS is ranked 11th globally. Selected students can receive top-notch English teaching from NUS main campus teachers at the NUS Suzhou Research Institute during their senior year, cultivating students' research innovation abilities and international perspectives.

(2) Full English instruction for a smooth transition to an international education model

Through Sino-foreign cooperation in education, students can receive equally high-quality international education in China one year ahead of studying for a master's degree in Singapore, achieving a smooth transition from domestic universities to world-class universities.

(3) Research innovation ability and global vision

Singapore has a robust legal system and comprehensive laws and regulations, especially with strict penalties for illegal and disciplinary actions. Therefore, Singapore has good public order and is one of the safest countries in the world. At the same time, Singapore is the top financial center in Asia, which can provide students with a global vision and stronger innovation and competitiveness.

(4) Opportunity to apply for full scholarship Ph.D. programs

Outstanding students in the "3+1+1" program can apply for the full scholarship Ph.D. recruitment program of NUS/NUS Suzhou Research Institute during their master's studies in the fifth year.

II. Diploma Issuance

Students who complete the program and meet the graduation requirements will receive:

1. Northwestern Polytechnical University undergraduate degree certificate;

2. National University of Singapore master's degree certificate.

III. Application Requirements

Major requirements: The NUS Industrial Systems Engineering and Management (ISEM) major is primarily aimed at junior students majoring in Engineering Management at the School of Management, Northwestern Polytechnical University. (Note: Students from other majors should contact the International Affairs Office of the college first.)

Credit requirements: Meet the admission requirements of the NUS Industrial Systems Engineering and Management Department (ISEM), with a major average score of over 82 points, and the final selection will be made jointly by NUS, NUS Suzhou Research Institute, and the School of Management.

English requirements: TOEFL score of 85 or above (the "Master's Preparatory" program requires a writing section score of over 22), or IELTS score of 6.0 or above.

If you do not have IELTS or TOEFL scores for the time being, you can submit your CET-4 or CET-6 scores first.

IV. Admission Process and Application Timeline

The application deadline for this year is March 29, 2024. Interested students need to submit the electronic version of the application form to the International Affairs Office of the college before the application deadline, and log in to the Suzhou Research Institute's admissions system website at http://application.nusri.cn/NusriEdu/register/registerAccount to register a personal account for online application and upload the required application materials (1. Color scanned copies of the first five semesters of undergraduate transcripts in both Chinese and English, if the transcript does not have a weighted average score in the hundred-mark system, an additional weighted average score certificate is required; 2. Color scanned copies of IELTS/TOEFL or CET-4/CET-6 scores). Students who meet the admission standards will participate in the interview and selection by the joint selection team of NUS and NUS Suzhou Research Institute. After the interview and selection process, the team will determine the final admitted students.

V. Related Costs

From September to May at the NUS Suzhou Research Institute: approximately 80,000 CNY

From August to May at NUS: approximately 180,000 CNY

VII. Introduction to Partner University

The National University of Singapore,abbreviation NUS, was established in 1905 and ranks first in the domestic university rankings in Singapore. It is a member of university alliances such as the Pacific Rim Universities Alliance, the Asian Universities Alliance, the Asia-Pacific International Education Association, the International Alliance of Research Universities, Universitas 21, and the New Engineering Education International Alliance. It has also obtained AACSB and EQUIS accreditations. NUS has a relatively high world ranking, ranking 11th in the 2021 QS World University Rankings.
