The 2nd Conference on Sustainable Operations Management was Held in NPU

From 18th to 19th May 2019, the 2nd Conference on Sustainable Operations Management was held in Northwestern Polytechnical University. The theme of the conference is “Sustainable Operations Management in New Era”. The conference attracted more than 280 scholars and students from more than 70 universities, including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Tianjin University, Nankai University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Xi'an Jiaotong University, etc

Chen Jianyou, Vice Deputy Secretary from School of Management, Northwestern Polytechnical University, delivered a speech

Prof. Kou Gang, Dean of Southwestern University of Finance And Economics, Vice President of Systems Engineering Society of China, delivered a speech

Prof. Zhu Qinghua, Chairman of Sustainable Operations Management System Branch, delivered a speech

On 18thMay 2019, the opening ceremony was held in International Conference Center in Northwestern Polytechnical University. Prof. Che Ada, Dean of School of Management hosted the opening ceremony of the conference. Chen Jianyou, Prof. Kou Gang and Prof. Zhu Qinghua delivered a speech.

Prof. Xie Jiaping from Shanghai University Finance and Economics hosted the conference report

After the opening ceremony, Prof. Chen Jian from Tsinghua University, Prof. Vinod R. Singhal from Georgia Institute of Technology, Prof. Wang Zhaohua from Beijing Institute of Technology and Dr. Zhao Xinyuan from National Natural Science Foundation of China had delivered their reports.

On the afternoon of the 18th, more than 80 participants attended reports of 5 themes: sustainable supply chain management, closed loop supply chain and remanufacturing, sustainable production and operations optimization, carbon trading pricing and energy efficiency, sustainable innovation and development.

In the morning of 19thMay, Ouyang Xiaoping from Chinese Academy of Engineering, Prof. Zhao Baofeng from Tianjin University, Prof. Li Jianyong from Naikai University and Prof. Niu Baozhuang from South China University of Technology delivered their reports.

During the closing ceremony, it’s announced that the 3rdChina Conference on Sustainable Operation and Management will be held in Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics in June 2020. Prof. Zhang Shengyi of Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics sent a sincere invitation to all delegates for the next conference.

The successful holding of the 2ndConference of China Sustainable Operation and Management was a great practice to the concept of General Secretary Xi Jinping:“Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets”. It will play a positive role in promoting academic exchanges, in exploring the frontiers of sciences, and in promoting the sustainable operations management in China.

The Sustainable Operations Management System Branch was established in December 2017, and the 1stConference on Sustainable Operations Management of China was successfully held at Shanghai Jiaotong University.
