On the morning of September 5, 2024, at the invitation of the School of Management, Professor He Hongwei from the University of Manchester came to the school for academic exchange and gave an academic lecture titled "The Impact of Corporate Social Irresponsibility (CSI) Practices on Consumers' Prosocial Behavior" in Room 214 of the School of Management. This lecture was the 22nd session of the 2024 Overseas Lecture Series of the School of Management, presided over by Associate Professor Wang Juan, with the participation of some teachers and graduate students from the School of Management.

At the beginning of the meeting, Wang Juan gave a brief introduction to He Hongwei's research direction, scientific achievements, and academic contributions. The faculty and students of the School of Management warmly welcomed Professor He Hongwei.

During the meeting, He Hongwei provided an in-depth explanation of how corporate social irresponsibility (CSI) affects consumers' prosocial behavior. He Hongwei cited some real-life examples of CSI and theoretically explored the mediating mechanism of anger in the impact of CSI harm on consumers' prosocial behavior. Then, based on the dual moral theory, He Hongwei introduced the impact of corporate controllability on CSI damage. He concluded from the data analysis of six studies that CSI harm has a positive impact on consumers' prosocial behavior. CSI harm can arouse anger towards the company, thereby increasing consumers' prosocial behavior. Additionally, he stated that when a company controls CSI, consumers perceive the harm as more severe, leading to increased anger towards the company. When angry consumers believe that CSI issues are less relevant to themselves, they are less likely to engage in prosocial behavior, but when they have stronger beliefs in their own efficacy in justice, they are more likely to engage in prosocial behavior.

In the interactive Q&A session, He Hongwei had an extensive discussion and exchange with everyone on the topic of the report and provided detailed answers to teachers and students' questions on how to better write papers and how to better ensure external validity in the experimental process.
