[Academic Report] Professor Sergio Terzi from Politecnico di Milano's lecture was successfully held.

On the morning of March 15th, Professor Sergio Terzi, the Deputy Dean of GSOM Business School at Politecnico di Milano, was invited by the School of Management to give an academic lecture titled "Why is 'Made in Italy' closely related to the Chinese market?" in classroom 120. Accompanying him was Wu Xiaodan, the Head of the Asia-Pacific Recruitment Department at Politecnico di Milano. The lecture was chaired by Professor Jia Ming, the Deputy Dean of the School of Management, with more than 30 faculty and students from the School of Management in attendance.

Jia Ming introduced Sergio Terzi and Wu Xiaodan to the audience and extended a warm welcome to them on behalf of the School of Management. At the beginning of the lecture, Sergio Terzi introduced the profound connotations of "Made in Italy." He emphasized that "Made in Italy" represents not only the quality of a product but also a commitment to exquisite craftsmanship, innovative design, and sustained quality. This unique manufacturing philosophy has given Italy a prestigious reputation in the global market. He then delved into the reasons behind the success of Italian luxury brands. He pointed out that these brands have gained global recognition and continue to attract consumers due to their unique brand culture, exquisite craftsmanship, and innovative design philosophy. At the same time, these brands also pay great attention to cooperation with the Chinese market, launching a series of products that cater to the characteristics of the Chinese market by deeply understanding the needs and aesthetics of Chinese consumers.

Sergio Terzi introduced the development of "Made in Italy 4.0" to the faculty and students present. He stated that with the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Italy's manufacturing industry is actively embracing digital transformation. By introducing technologies such as intelligent manufacturing, big data analysis, and the Internet of Things, they are continuously improving production efficiency and product quality. This innovative strategy not only maintains Italy's leading position in the global market but also provides more possibilities for cooperation between Italy and emerging markets like China.

Wu Xiaodan provided detailed guidance to the faculty and students on applying for the Master's programs in business at Politecnico di Milano. She first emphasized the internationalization, specialization, and practical aspects of the business education at the university, as well as its wide recognition and influence globally.

Next, Wu Xiaodan outlined the application process in detail, including online application, document submission, language requirements, and the interview stage. She offered practical advice on how to handle challenging interview questions, stressing that the interview is a crucial part of the application process. Applicants need to be well-prepared to demonstrate their professional competence and overall abilities. Additionally, she provided a thorough explanation on how to apply for various scholarships, offering valuable reference information for students interested in applying to Politecnico di Milano.

After the lecture, the attending faculty and students expressed that they had greatly benefited from it. They not only gained a deeper understanding of Italy's manufacturing industry and the business education at Politecnico di Milano but also received valuable application guidance and advice. The School of Management will also take this opportunity to further explore cooperation models with internationally renowned universities and increase its efforts in cultivating internationally oriented talents.

Sergio Terzi is a Professor of Industrial Technology (Master's in Management Engineering) and Production Systems Design and Management (Master's in Mechanical Engineering). His main research interests lie in the field of advanced and intelligent manufacturing (also known as Industry 4.0), with a particular focus on the role of digital technologies and sustainability. He currently serves as the Deputy Dean of GSOM Business School at Politecnico di Milano, the Director of International Relations at the Department of Management Engineering, and the Director of the Double Degree Programs between Politecnico di Milano and Tsinghua University and Tongji University.
